FusionPicks methodology

How FusionPicks records FanDuel moneyline movement, validates public boards, assigns market classifications, and measures published performance.

Scope

Data source

FusionPicks currently uses FanDuel as its sportsbook source. Public MLB and NFL trackers focus on moneyline markets. Prices from other sportsbooks are not blended into the displayed movement, and no consensus line is implied.

Collection

Archived observations

The system records scheduled price snapshots and publishes validated production exports. SQLite remains the underlying source of truth. The website reads those existing exports and does not trigger extra sportsbook API requests.

Times are Eastern and reflect the normal production schedule. Availability and successful validation determine what is published.

Weekly observations follow openers, practice and injury windows, weekend positioning, and the final game-day market.

Definition

Opening odds

The first usable FanDuel moneyline archived for the active MLB day or NFL week. It is FusionPicks' operational opening reference, not a claim about the first line ever posted across all sportsbooks.

Definition

Current odds

The latest validated FanDuel moneyline included in the public board export. A newer sportsbook price may appear after the displayed timestamp.

Definition

Movement

The difference between archived observations, evaluated in American-odds terms and as a change in implied win probability. Timestamps preserve when the move occurred.

Publication safeguards

Completeness and stale-data rules

Validated exports only

The public site renders production data only after the export passes the publication checks expected by the dashboard.

Visible update time

Boards expose their latest successful update so users can judge recency instead of assuming every number is live to the second.

No invented prices

Missing or temporarily unavailable FanDuel markets are shown as unavailable or updating. FusionPicks does not invent or silently backfill a price.

Stale-state handling

When a current validated board cannot be loaded, the product uses an explicit unavailable state rather than presenting an old board as current.

Classification logic

High-level interpretation

Classifications summarize the strength, consistency, timing, and risk of the recorded market path. They describe market behavior; they are not guaranteed outcomes or instructions to wager.

BEST

Strongest positive read

CHECK

Positive read to review

LOW

No meaningful read

RISK

Mixed positive evidence

AVOID

Fade warning

FusionPicks publishes this high-level framework while keeping implementation details that would enable mechanical replication of the classification engine private.

Results

Grading

After a game is final, published actionable classifications are graded using the recorded matchup result. LOW remains available for research but is excluded from actionable accuracy summaries. MLB and NFL records are kept separate.

Performance

Return methodology

Public return figures use flat one-unit stakes and the FanDuel board price archived with the published selection. A win earns the price-based profit, a loss is minus one unit, and ROI is total units divided by graded sides.

Known limitations

  • • One sportsbook does not represent the entire betting market.
  • • Scheduled snapshots do not capture every price change between pulls.
  • • Markets can be suspended, reposted, or corrected by the sportsbook.
  • • Movement alone cannot establish why a price changed.
  • • Historical performance does not guarantee future results.
  • • Users must verify the current price and comply with local laws.
